TOOLS NEEDED

Ladder
Pro-Tip: Always use a metal measuring tape. Cloth tapes can stretch and cause errors.

Measuring for Recess Fit (Inside Frame)

  1. Measure Width: Measure the inside width of the window frame at the top, middle, and bottom. Record the smallest measurement.
  2. Measure Drop: Measure the inside height from the top of the recess to the window sill.
  3. Deductions: Do not make any deductions. We will make the necessary deductions to ensure the blind fits perfectly.
Ensure you have at least 60mm depth in your window reveal for this fit.

Measuring for Face Fit (Outside Frame)

  1. Measure Width: Measure the width of the architrave (frame) or the exact width you want the blind to cover.
  2. Measure Drop: Measure from the top of the architrave to where you want the blind to finish.

Pro-Tip: Always use a metal measuring tape. Cloth tapes can stretch and cause errors.

Measuring Curtains (Ceiling/Top Fit)

  1. Track Width: Measure the full width of the space or window reveal. Deduct 10mm for clearance.
  2. Finished Drop: Provide the exact measurement from the top of the track to where you want the curtain to end. Note: We will calculate and apply all necessary functional deductions based on your provided drop.
  3. Mounting Height: For optimal aesthetics, mount the track at least 100mm above the top of the window frame to create the illusion of higher ceilings.

Structural Check & Support:

Before drilling, locate the internal timber framing.

  • Face Fit: Identify the horizontal header beam above the window or vertical studs at the edges.
  • Top Fit: Locate the ceiling joists.

Important: If mounting into plasterboard/drywall without timber support, you MUST use heavy-duty hollow-wall anchors. Standard plugs are insufficient for the weight of curtains.

Double Brackets Required: If you are installing a blind inside the window frame and a curtain on the face, treat them as two separate measurements.

If you are installing both on the Face (Wall), you will need special double brackets.

  • Measure the Blind Face Fit as normal.
  • Measure the Curtain Track width to be wider than the blind (add 100mm extra per side).
  • Ensure your brackets project far enough to clear the blind roller.

Measuring Curtains (Face Fit / Wall Mount)

  1. Rod/Track Width: Measure the total width of the window and add 150mm–200mm to each side. This extra width (stack-back) allows the curtains to clear the glass when open, maximizing light.
  2. Finished Drop: Provide the exact measurement from the top of the track/rod to where you want the curtain to end. Note: We will calculate and apply all necessary functional deductions based on your provided drop.
  3. Mounting Height: For optimal aesthetics, mount the track/rod at least 100mm above the window frame to create the illusion of higher ceilings.

Installing Blinds (Recess)

  1. Position brackets inside the window reveal. Mark the screw holes.
  2. Drill pilot holes and screw brackets firmly into place.
  3. Insert the control end (chain side) first, then push the plunger end until it clicks into the bracket.
  4. Install the child safety device (mandatory).

TOOLS NEEDED

Tape
Pencil
Ladder
Drill
Structural Check: Always attempt to mount brackets directly into solid timber. For Face Fits, locate the horizontal header beam above the window frame or the vertical studs framing the edges. For Top Fits, locate the ceiling joists. If mounting directly into plaster or drywall, the use of heavy-duty anchors is mandatory.
Pro-Tip: If drilling into plaster without a timber frame behind it, ensure you use high-quality wall mates or anchors for a secure hold.

Installing Blinds (Face Fit)

  1. Position brackets on the architrave or wall. Ensure they are level.
  2. Mark holes, drill, and secure brackets.
  3. Insert the blind into the brackets.
  4. Secure the child safety cleat to the wall ensuring the chain is tensioned.

Installing Curtains (Top Fit)

  1. Check your track length fits the space or window reveal.
  2. Evenly space the provided brackets across the width of the window to ensure balanced weight distribution.
  3. Drill holes and screw the brackets into the ceiling/lintel.
  4. Click the track into the brackets and secure.
  5. The gliders come pre-attached to the track. Start from one end and clip your curtain hooks directly into the gliders, working your way across the track.
